Basic Input / Output System - 1966 Words

Task 1 Processor: A Processor or CPU (Central processing unit) is a chip that is housed in the mother boards CPU socket; some may say that this is the heart of the computer. It is a control circuit that pull data from various parts and directs them along data busses as packets of data but also can do calculations. The CPU also uses the Ram of the PC to store data. Motherboard: This is a printed circuit board or PCB that is the most important part of the PC, this is because every component is attached to this key part, and its size and shape determines how fast and how may additional parts the pc can house. BIOS: Basic input/output system is a collection of software utility’s that create parts of the OS system. This usually takes the form of a ROM chip that comes with the PC called a ROM BIOS. But what does the BIOS actually do? The BIOS allows the computer to boot up and allows it to configurator data, as well as check to see if hardware is working properly. The BIOS also allows the OS to use some specific features and handles input and output from the PC. The BIOS will never disappear in the event of a power failure because it is stored on the ROM. Hard drive configuration and controllers: the hard drive is where all saved data from the user is stored on a disc. A hard disc drive are IDE devices controlled by an IDE controller, which there are two kinds; primary, this is where the HDD is normally attached and secondary where a CD/DVD drive is normally attached. PGS has two important aspects: †¢ Rotation speed of three ports (sun gear, ring gear and carrier gear). Rotation of engine can be controlled to perform within peak-efficiency zone †¢ Torques into the three ports of PSG should be in proportion to each other. So electric machines should have more output torques and power-split hybrid architectures are notRead MoreElectronic Data Processing Systems1527 Words   |  7 PagesElectronic Data Processing Systems Chapter  6 Learning  Objective  1 Describe  how  application controls  are  used  in  data processing  systems  to ensure  accuracy and  integrity. Its main function is to predict the performance and cost of residential and commercial projects. SAM has different options for predicting the performance of photovoltaic systems. The model requires that the user choose from different photovoltaic system models, and depending on that choice, possibly chooseRead MoreApplication of Assembly Language922 Words   |  4 Pages   What is the application of assembly Language? Where can we prefer assembly language instead of high level languages? 1. Assembly Language is used when speed and reliability are the overriding factor like small footprint real-time operating systems. 2. By using assembly language, programmers can maximize on speed to a level. It is easy to write than machine code programs. 3. It allows the programmer access to registers or instructions that are not usually provided by a High-level languageRead MoreTop-Down Approach to Drawing Data Flow Diagrams Essay861 Words   |  4 Pagesdetail level displayed (Kendall Kendall, 2008, p. 220). Using information gathered from interviews, investigation, and personal observation, the systems analyst begins by developing a list of business activities. They then use the list to define the four elements of a data flow diagram, as follows:  § External entities – send/receive data to/from the system  § Data flows – the movement of data  § Processes – the change or transformation of data  § Data stores – a virtual storehouse where data canRead MoreTesting Is The Process Of Executing The Program1321 Words   |  6 Pagesdevelopment phase. 5.1 Software Testing Basics In the start of testing process the basic and primary thing is requirements of development cycle, this phase the testing will be easier for testing. The quality and capacity of software can be examining by executing the code and check the code at different conditions such as software testing by subjecting it to different sources as input and evaluating the results with respect to the inputs. There are two basics types of software testing.
